The time has come and we hope we are ready. If you have read any of my posts, you can tell that the farmer in me would always like to see a bigger crop than the one we have now. But I am always happy to have a crop of any size. And while this one is about the same as last years, it always amazes me at how much we depend on Mother Nature. Just like your garden, sometimes you just don't have much control over what happens. I do what I can and in the end, I'm thankful that things turned out good. As I mentioned earlier, the bulk of what we have this year will be of the earlier varieties, so don't wait too long. The season will be over shortly and fall will be upon us.

Just a quick update. I have had alot of people ask in the last few days about apples and when they might be ready. As of now, it looks like the orchard will be opening the last weekend in August. As I mentioned earlier, State Fair will be the best producer for us this year. They will be the first apple to be ready. So watch the web site and I'll let you know for sure in a week or so. Also, the season this year will probably be shorter than most so if you want fresh apples, don't wait to long. Stay tuned!
