![]() Fall is just around the corner and this weekend looks to be great! We will be picking the last of the State Fair this weekend. We will also be picking Zestar, Chestnut Crab and Hazen. If you like to make jelly, then Chestnut Crab is the perfect apple for that. I call them a mini Honey Crisp. They are crunchy and sweet. Perfect for just about anything. Hazen is a deep red apple thats perfect for baking or just plain eating and Zestar is one of the best all around apples. This year we have a great crop of them and they are huge! We also finished extracting honey this week so if you want some really good local honey, then dont wait too long. See you this weekend!

This weekend we will be picking State Fair, Zestar and Chestnut Crab apples. We will also have fresh apple cider. Its not cold enough yet for a bonfire, but its always time for a cup of cider! The crop of Zestar this year is one of the best we have ever had. Zestar is a crisp and juicy apple thats good for pies or just plain eating. Its not as hard as a Honey Crisp, but I'd say that the taste is right up there. The crop of both State Fair and Zestar is big enough this year that if you like, you can pick your own. See you on Saturday!
The time is here and the apples are ready. The orchard will open for the season next Saturday, August 19. Hours will be Saturdays from 10-5 and Sundays from noon-5. First up as always will be State Fair. A very good crisp and somewhat tart apple that goes with just about anything. A week or so behind that will be Zestar. This year the Zestar crop is impressive to say the least. For both of these early varieties, since we have such a good crop, we are going to let you "pick your own" if you like. If you would rather just pick up a bag, thats ok too! The bees have also had a good summer and within the next couple of weeks, we will be extracting honey. So if you would like some really good local honey, it wont be far off. See you next weekend!
